WRAPPING UP SOME PREP WORK

We finished the day on Wednesday pulling tack strips and getting a first coat of mud on the living/dining room ceilings;

I also took some time to test transplanting the wood from the laundry room to fill the 2 voids left by the wall in the dining room;

Since my friend had to leave by noon on Thursday, we immediately jumped on priming the bedrooms in the morning.  The ceiling turned out perfectly and I was surprised how smooth the walls came out with our minimal patching.  Note- when looking at the pictures below keep in mind that this is only primer therefore it will look patchy and uneven- this is normal.  Also, in regards to the gaps between the ceiling and wall, I will be installing crown moulding in every room so there is no need to mud these areas;

I spent the afternoon sanding and applying a second coat of mud to the living room/dining room;

While we got a ton of work done over the last 2 days, I realize that these pictures really don’t show a lot of visual progress!  The finish work in the bedrooms and hallway starts tomorrow with the installation of new windows, hanging/rehanging of the doors, trim and hopefully the finish coat on Saturday.  Here are the windows that will be going in tomorrow around noon;

  1. Wow! You really got alot done. The drywall looks great. You have become a master mudder!! I was surprised at how well the floor patch looks. That should work on both spots. Hopefully you didn't work Will to death and he'll come back another time to help. Still want T, Chad, Jen and I to come and paint? You may be done with that by next weekend. Keep up the good work and the postings. It's really coming along well
