CLEVELAND, OHIO TRAVEL DAY

My dad left on Sunday morning as I headed to the airport to fly to Cleveland.  My girlfriend and a group of friends have held a “Sunday Supper” tradition for years and she organized a final goodbye dinner for the evening.  I got into Cleveland at 3:00 and we headed to 7 course private dinner at Hodge’s downtown.  As a sidenote, the dinner was awesome!  The restaurant is known for its organic and local cuisine and we had a private room where the chef brought out each course while explaining where it came from.  It was during this 3 hour affair that I was encouraged to start a blog and I spent last night/this morning developing what you see now!
Hopefully I’ve done a decent job with bringing everyone up to speed.   As I mentioned, I have an experienced friend coming into town to work with me from Tuesday through Thursday so I hope to have some finished areas by the end of the week.  Lastly, again, please let me know what you think of the blog and I look forward to improving it along with the house every day!

  1. Your girlfriend says you need to stop perfecting the blog and get to work on the bathroom....

  2. Have mercy! This reminds me of our old house in Norwood. Don't ya' love the rigged wiring??? As we've worked on our Cleveland house I've wondered so many times how it didn't burn down long ago. Excited to see your progress but not the least bit jealous :) We still have some stuff to do here....but not nearly the tear-out you're facing. ~Jennalee

  3. Just saw your poll for counter tops...Depends on the look/feel/mood you're going for in the kitchen. I'm not a fan of ceramic tile because it's tougher to keep clean and crumbs get stuck in all the crevices....and hair/pet fur just sticks to tile....ick! I like butcher block for some kitchens, just depends. When we replace ours here, it'll be something solid surface like Corian.

  4. Thanks for the input! It looks like we are going to go with granite but it makes me sick to spend $2000 on a countertop! Stay tuned because the next poll will be color selections & style for the granite.
