BRIEF UPDATE

 While I haven’t had a chance to put together a solid blog entry, I wanted to update everyone on the progress by posting some updated pictures.  Here is the roof;

Here is where we are with the kitchen.  A couple of notes- the drywall finishing may look pretty haphazard but keep in mind that 90% of this will be covered up by the cabinets and tile backsplash.  Also, that is a new door in the laundry room and the pipe sticking out in the closet will eventually be trimmed down to serve as a stand pipe for the washing machine discharge;

Lastly, my dad spent Sunday putting together the cabinets- here are most of them staged in the guest bedroom;

We will be painting the kitchen today and installing the cabinets.  Yesterday we ordered the countertops which should arrive in about 2 weeks.  If you recall, my first blog poll question was to decide on what type of countertops should be installed- the results came back in favor of granite so here is a link to the Ubatuba granite that we purchased;
